Transport Clerk - Nightshift
We are looking for a Night Transport Operator to join our Bathgate depot. Working as part of the transport team, you will support the full range of transport administration tasks and help coordinate the daily running of a busy operational contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Transport Manager in leading and motivating the team to deliver excellent efficiency, profitability, and service levels.
- Oversee daily transport operations, including dispatch, driver debriefs, and monitoring work in progress.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with our key customer to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Planning routes to maximise vehicles and staffing.
- Monitor safety standards, ensuring full compliance and a safe working environment.
- Act as a primary point of contact, handling queries professionally via email, phone, and in person.
- Assist with the production of KPIs and daily operational reports to track performance and highlight improvements.
- Contribute to compliance planning in line with company policies and industry regulations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a transport environment, with good understanding of the Working Time Directive and EU Driver Hours.
- Strong communication skills.
- Geographical knowledge of the UK.
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise workloads.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Confident in MS Packages - Word, Excel, Outlook.
About the role
- Salary - £33,990 per annum (48 hours per week).
- Temp to perm role, working for a period of 12 weeks before going over fulltime.
- 18:00 – 06:00, Wednesday to Saturday.
